About PNC-27.
PNC-27 is a synthetic 32-amino-acid chimeric peptide that fuses residues 12-26 of the HDM-2 (HDM2/MDM2) binding domain of human p53 to a membrane-residency / penetratin-derived leader sequence (MRP). In published research it is characterized as an anticancer tool compound that adopts an HDM-2-binding conformation, binds HDM-2 in the plasma membrane, and induces selective trans-membrane pore formation and membranolysis in cancer cells while sparing normal cells.
