About IGF-1 DES(1,3).
IGF-1 DES(1,3) is a truncated recombinant analog of insulin-like growth factor 1 in which the first three N-terminal residues (Gly-Pro-Glu) are deleted, leaving a 67-amino-acid chain. Removal of this tripeptide markedly lowers affinity for the IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs), which has made it a widely used reference tool compound in IGF-1 receptor and growth-factor signaling research.
