Overview
GDF-8 (growth/differentiation factor 8, or myostatin) is a secreted TGF-β superfamily protein whose mature ~25 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer signals through activin type II receptors and the Smad2/3 pathway to act as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass. In research settings it is used in muscle-atrophy and hypertrophy models and in the characterization and screening of myostatin/activin-pathway inhibitors.

FAQ
Yes. GDF-8 (growth/differentiation factor 8) and myostatin are the same TGF-β-superfamily protein, also catalogued as MSTN. Pepti supplies it as a lyophilized research-grade recombinant protein for in-vitro laboratory use only.
GDF-8 ships as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in 1mg vials. The mature protein is a disulfide-linked homodimer of ~25 kDa; the exact recombinant construct and expression host are stated on each batch COA.
Every lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis reporting identity, purity by RP-HPLC and/or SDS-PAGE, and endotoxin (only if specifically ordered and tested) level. Additional third-party HPLC/MS verification and QC data are available on request for qualified B2B accounts.
MOQ is 50 kits (500 vials). Pepti manufactures to order and offers bulk supply, custom fill volumes, and private-label / OEM packaging and labeling for research-supply distributors and brands.
Production lots target ≥99% HPLC purity unless a special RFQ specification is agreed; the actual lot result is shown in that lot's batch-linked COA and supporting records.
