| Molecular weight | ~34.7 kDa predicted for the mature chain (aa 30-344, 315 residues) — independently computed as 34,754 Da from UniProt P19883, consistent with R&D Systems 4889-FN. Full 344-aa precursor = 38,007 Da (UniProt P19883, canonical). Apparent ~38-42 kDa on reducing SDS-PAGE for glycosylated NS0/HEK293-expressed material; non-glycosylated E. coli constructs (e.g. FST-288-type) migrate lower (~31-35 kDa). Exact MW is expression-system/glycoform dependent. |

Overview
Follistatin-344 is one of two alternatively spliced isoforms of human follistatin (UniProt P19883), a single-chain secreted glycoprotein comprising an N-terminal domain and three cysteine-rich follistatin domains (FSD1-3). In research models it acts as a high-affinity antagonist of TGF-β superfamily ligands — principally myostatin (GDF-8) and activin A/B — by binding and sequestering them, which is studied in the context of skeletal-muscle and tissue-signaling research.

FAQ
It ships as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed vial, offered here at 1 mg per vial. Follistatin-344 is a recombinant single-chain glycoprotein; reconstitution solvent (for example bacteriostatic or sterile water) is not included and is selected by the receiving lab.
Every lot is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis reporting identity and purity by HPLC and mass spectrometry (MS), alongside appearance and net-content data. Additional documentation such as SDS-PAGE, endotoxin (only if specifically ordered and tested) results, or lot-specific data can be provided on request for qualification and private-label programs.
Catalog MOQ for the 1 mg format is 50 kits (500 vials). Larger bulk and private-label volumes are quoted per RFQ, and custom fill sizes, labeling, and kitting can be arranged as part of an OEM program.
Follistatin-344 is a recombinant glycoprotein (human follistatin, UniProt P19883); its apparent mass runs roughly 38–42 kDa on SDS-PAGE depending on glycosylation and expression system, with a predicted mature-chain mass near 34.7 kDa. Because reported CAS designations for follistatin vary across registries, exact CAS and lot-specific mass are confirmed on the batch COA / RFQ rather than assumed.
No. It is supplied strictly as a research-use-only material for laboratory and manufacturing R&D. It is not a drug, supplement, or medical product, and Pepti provides no dosing or medical guidance. Buyers are responsible for compliance and permitted use in their own jurisdiction.
