ARA-290 is an EPO-derived tissue-protective peptide (INN: cibinetide) that in published research selectively engages the innate repair receptor (IRR), a heterodimer of the EPO receptor and the beta-common receptor CD131, rather than the classical erythropoietic EPO receptor. This signaling has been studied for anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair effects, notably in small-fiber and diabetic neuropathy models, without stimulating red-cell production.
